Altiris Appoints Industry Veteran as VP of Corporate Development; Steve Madigan Joins Altiris with Years of Experience at Microsoft, Peregrine and as a Venture Capitalist.

SALT LAKE CITY -- Altiris Inc. (Nasdaq: ATRS), a pioneer of service-oriented management solutions, today announced the appointment of Steve Madigan as Altiris VP of corporate development with the responsibility of further establishing Altiris market leadership through strategic acquisitions and partner opportunities. Madigan brings more than 18 years of industry experience to Altiris, most recently with Peregrine Systems, more than 10 years with Microsoft and more than four years as the principal of a venture capital management firm.

At Peregrine Systems, Madigan served as area vice president of product management with responsibility for systems management software product lines generating more than $200 million in revenues. Madigan directed business development activities by aligning product priorities and guiding partner negotiations.

In 1988, Madigan joined Microsoft and held numerous executive level positions within the Microsoft Windows and networking divisions. Madigan led program management teams that designed the Windows user interface and contributed to the core architecture of Windows NT/XP while working with countless partners on market and technology initiatives.

As a principal in a closely held venture capital firm, Madigan specialized in developing business and investment opportunities in Taiwan, China, the United States and Canada.

Madigan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton University.
