Altiris Altiris Inc. is a subsidiary of Symantec specializing in service-oriented management software which allows organizations to manage IT assets. They also provide software for web services, security, and systems management products. Altiris will maintain the Tekworks location in Albuquerque, N.M. as a development site. Altiris will continue to develop and support the Tekworks solutions and customers and has announced that it will further integrate Tekworks technology into Altiris' line of management solutions.

These technologies will further enhance and extend the web capabilities of the Altiris product line, making it the first truly web-based IT lifecycle management solution."

Tekworks, formed in 1996, has developed an advanced web-based development platform that is used in developing some of the Altiris solutions. Tekworks also has a successful systems integration business with a focus on business process automation and extending Microsoft Systems Management Server Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) is a systems management software product by Microsoft for managing large groups of Windows-based computer systems. SMS provides remote control, patch management, software distribution, and hardware and software inventory.  environments.
