Altiris Acquires Carbon Copy from Compaq; Carbon Copy's Proven Remote Control Solidifies Remote Management Features of Altiris eXpress 5.

Altiris Inc. -- a leading provider of intuitive Internet and corporate network management solutions that reduce the total cost of owning and managing technology -- Monday announced that it has acquired Carbon Copy -- the industry-leading remote control solution -- from Compaq Computer Corp.

The acquisition strengthens Carbon Copy's marketability. Altiris will retain all current Carbon Copy employees and establish an East Coast sales and development presence in the Boston area.

Altiris will continue to market and support Carbon Copy as a separate solution and will continue to support all existing Carbon Copy customers. Altiris also plans to integrate Carbon Copy technologies into existing products to enhance remote capabilities of the Altiris product set.
