Altheim to be honored at Foundation gala.

The Jeffrey Modell Foundation, a leading medical research and education organization long embraced by New York City's real estate community, will honor Philip Altheim as the 2007 Man of the Year at its 21st annual gala fundraising event.

Altheim is a widely respected philanthropist and leader in the real estate and electrical contracting industry. Altheim will be saluted for his commitment, compassion, and dedication to children with Primary Immunodeficiencies at the April 26 Spring Ahead Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street.

The Jeffrey Modell Foundation (JMF) is an organization dedicated to research, physician education, patient support, and public awareness of Primary Immunodeficiency Disease (PI). The disorder encompasses more than 120 diseases caused by an immune system that does not function properly, and affects one million children in the United States alone.

JMF's annual Gala typically packs the room with hundreds of New York's Real Estate leaders, who join many of the Foundation's physicians, patients, and friends for a high-spirited evening that acknowledges loyal supporters and celebrates past successes and future endeavors.

Altheim founded Belway Electric in September, 2006. Prior to that, he spent nearly three decades with Forest Electric Corp. From 1975 to 1978, he was a partner with David Coyne Electric. He began his career in 1961 with A&D Electric, a family-owned business in Manhattan. Altheim is actively involved in many philanthropic and educational organizations including the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the United Jewish Appeal Federation's Annual Campaign.
