Although Los Angeles-based director Richard Taylor of Tropix Films traveled to North Carolina to work with the Alternate Route CGI and scenics teams and for the stage photography and editing, much of the collaboration took place via digital file transfers and conference calls.

"The Internet has quickly become a bridge to talent that directors and agencies hadn't considered in the past," said Ellis. "This project is a prime example of how the industry is changing because of it."

Local chapters of the American Advertising Federation sponsor the regional ADDY competitions, which recognize creative excellence in original advertising. From the regional ADDY competition, winners progress to the district level, which encompasses all of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. District winners will be announced in mid-April, and the winners will compete for national awards in June.
