Altera To Repurchase Shares.


SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1996--Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to 2,000,000 shares of the Company's common stock. The shares may be purchased in the open market from time to time at the discretion of the Company's management. The Company also announced that its Board of Directors approved an ongoing program to provide for the repurchase of additional shares of the Company's common stock in the open market which will be used to fund the issuance of stock under the Company's stock option and stock purchase plans.
