Altera Participates With San Francisco Giants in Seventh Annual 'Until There's a Cure Day'.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2000

Altera Corporation (Nasdaq:ALTR) today announced its participation in the "Until There's a Cure Day" with the San Francisco Giants at Pacific Bell Park, on Sunday, July 16, 2000. The proceeds raised through this event will fund HIV InSite http://www.hivinsite.ucsf.edu, a web site to be launched by the University of California, San Francisco's AIDS Research Institute to educate youths about HIV/AIDS. The San Francisco Giants Community Fund will donate $40,000 to the Until There's A Cure Foundation, additional funds will be generated through the sponsorship of the event, sale of "The Bracelet," which promotes HIV awareness and sale of tee-shirts. Altera has underwritten the costs for the San Francisco Giants to donate tickets in Altera's name to a local community organization, providing them with access to the game, and participation in the pre-game ceremonies.
