AlterPoint Selected by Fraser Health Authority; British Columbia's Top Health Provider Chooses DeviceAuthority Suite to Automate Change Management and Maintain ITIL Compliance.

AUSTIN, Texas -- AlterPoint(TM), Inc., the leading provider of network change and configuration management (NCCM) solutions, today announced that Fraser Health Authority (FHA), one of the leading health authorities delivering health care and preventive services in British Columbia, has selected DeviceAuthority(TM) Suite for automating change management and maintaining ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) compliance. FHA hosts two centralized locations running production networks that provide services to 2,000 doctors and 20,000 employees with continuous access to business-critical applications that maintain patient records, invoices, spreadsheets and email. FHA plans to implement DeviceAuthority Suite throughout their entire production environment to automate and manage change across device configurations as well as manage ITIL compliance to maintain network service availability.

FHA will use DeviceAuthority Suite's automation and intelligence capabilities to optimize the overall performance and reliability of their network. Through scheduled change reports and real-time notifications, FHA will have a constant awareness of the state of their network and the changes occurring, allowing them to proactively administer device configurations to prevent network outages. DeviceAuthority Suite will enable IT staff to automate the backup of device configurations, generate inventory reports, and simplify troubleshooting through the "Diff Report" which compares two configurations side-by-side to quickly identify what has changed.

FHA will also govern and enforce compliance with ITIL by establishing compliance rules and automatically generate detailed compliance reports containing device violations and changes. FHA currently uses the ITIL framework to set processes and better document IT actions for future audits, such as those related to compliance rules. DeviceAuthority Suite is designed to deliver immediate results around ITIL compliance including improving staff efficiency, reducing network downtime and ensuring the availability of business-critical services.

FHA currently uses HP OpenView Network Node Manager (NNM) to monitor errors, performance and capacity on their WAN and LAN devices and SNMP enabled servers, and plans to leverage DeviceAuthority Suite's integration with HP OpenView NNM to quickly implement configuration changes and updates with built in workflow and validation to ensure the successful, reliable, accurate change of device configurations to ensure network availability. FHA also plans to integrate its implementation of BMC's Remedy AR System to take advantage of Alterpoint's strategic alliance with BMC. This will provide an automated process for planning, scheduling and tracking changes to network devices.
