As an HP Platinum Business Partner, AlterPoint is the first Network Change and Configuration Management vendor to achieve SmartLink certification for their integrations with both HP OpenView offerings.

The integration with HP OpenView Network Node Manager provides IT enterprise customers with comprehensive fault detection, diagnosis and problem resolution for network devices across their multi-vendor networks. The integration with HP OpenView Service Desk provides enterprises with a complete end-to-end solution for automated, ITIL-compliant change management leveraging DeviceAuthority Suite's configuration change monitoring and implementation capabilities and HP OpenView Service Desk's change workflow capabilities.

Integration with HP OpenView Network Node Manager

HP OpenView Network Node Manager is an out-of-the-box network management tool for large, complex switched and routed environments. DeviceAuthority Suite provides a comprehensive solution for automating and managing the configurations of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless access points, and other network devices. The integrated solution with HP OpenView Network Node Manager provides:

Real-time notification of configuration changes -- DeviceAuthority
    Suite notifies HP OpenView Network Node Manager when a
    configuration change occurs including the "who, what, when and
    where" of the configuration change, as well as any hardware or
    software modifications associated with the change.

    Automated problem resolution -- Once identified, problems can be
    resolved quickly from the HP OpenView Network Node Manager
    interface by launching the DeviceAuthority Update Module and
    implementing the appropriate configuration change.

    Inventory synchronization -- Allows management of a single
    inventory by automatically synchronizing DeviceAuthority Suite's
    inventory with HP OpenView Network Node Manager in real time.

The combined solution provides enterprises with the ability to improve troubleshooting and resolution of change-related problems; ensure compliance with internal and external configuration and change standards; quickly identify, correlate and respond to changes in real-time; and automatically implement configuration changes.

Integration with HP OpenView Service Desk

HP OpenView Service Desk automates the workflow process for scoping, planning, scheduling and tracking changes to network devices. The DeviceAuthority Suite integration with HP OpenView Service Desk extends this by providing change implementation and verification capabilities, as well as offering increased visibility into changes occurring across the network. DeviceAuthority Suite also strengthens HP's Asset Management application by automatically populating the configuration management database (CMDB) with the appropriate network configuration information. Overall, the combined solution will provide complete and comprehensive change management, delivering immediate benefits to the enterprise, including improved service levels, automation of support processes, managed assets and lower costs.
