Alteon to Provide Aerosim Training Tools with Bundled Training Services.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Alteon Training, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) has signed a long term agreement to provide Aerosim Technologies' PC-based training tools in conjunction with their own training services. These trainers will be used with existing training solutions. Aerosim products covered under the agreement include; Flight Management System Trainer (FMST), Virtual Flight Deck(TM) (VFD(TM)), Virtual Procedure Trainer(TM) (VPT(TM)) and Flight Training Devices.

Under this agreement, Alteon has placed a number of Aerosim trainers at their centers and customer sites around the world. These include: a B737-300 Virtual Procedure Trainer(TM) at Aerolineas, Argentina; an A320 FMGS Trainer and Virtual Procedure Trainer(TM) at the Alteon Training Center in Brisbane, Australia; a B737-700 FMST to be delivered to the Long Beach, CA Alteon Training Center; and a B737-700 / 777 Virtual Procedure Trainer(TM) to be delivered to Aeromexico.

All Aerosim training products are designed to operate in either a structured training environment or true free-play mode. Aerosim's VPT(TM) is a seven-screen, reconfigurable, multi-crew touch-panel based training device designed to help optimize training time and improve the learning process. Theory, practice, technical details, operational issues and human factors are brought together in a realistic environment. Interactive lessons give pilots the opportunity to demonstrate procedures step-by-step while reading through detailed lessons. The VFD(TM) is a PC-based based training device that allows students to view and manipulate all panels, controls, indicators and displays within the flight deck using a single computer screen. The VFD allows real-time interaction with every aircraft system. The FMST allows pilots to perform pre-flight and in-flight FMS, autopilot, EFIS and navigation procedures. The VFD and FMST are designed to be used both in the classroom for instructor led training as well as outside the classroom for individual self-paced learning.
