Altea Therapeutics and Teikoku Seiyaku Co. Ltd. Enter into an Agreement for the Development, Manufacture, and Commercialization in Japan of a New Transdermal Therapy for Parkinson's Disease.


ATLANTA -- Altea Therapeutics announced today that it has entered an exclusive licensing agreement for Japan with Teikoku Seiyaku Co. Ltd. to develop and commercialize a new transdermal patch transdermal patch: see skin patch.  therapy that utilizes the Altea Therapeutics PassPort(TM) transdermal technology to deliver an active pharmaceutical ingredient for managing Parkinson's Disease Parkinson's disease or Parkinsonism, degenerative brain disorder first described by the English surgeon James Parkinson in 1817. When there is no known cause, the disease usually appears after age 40 and is referred to as Parkinson's disease. .

Under the terms of the agreement, Teikoku Seiyaku will pay Altea Therapeutics a signing fee and additional payments upon completion of certain development milestones. Teikoku Seiyaku will pay undisclosed royalties on net sales Net Sales

The amount a seller receives from the buyer after costs associated with the sale are deducted.

Notes:
This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight
 and/or net revenues and also fund the cost of Japanese product development. Additionally Teikoku Seiyaku has an option to negotiate terms for exclusive Japanese market rights for certain additional products based on the PassPort(TM) System.
