Altavista Mines Inc. drilling program returns very impressive and promising results.MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 1996--ALTAVISTA (ME: AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture ) Altavista Mines Inc. announces the completion of its first drilling program on the Santa Anna gold property in Northwestern Quebec. Results are very impressive and promising for the whole area evaluated by the drilling program ("Santa Anna showing"). Dimensions of the evaluated area are 750 metres by 150 metres, from Section 4900NE to Section 4150NE. Holes were drilled at 50-metre intervals (165 feet) and are 100 metres (330 feet) in length which enabled an evaluation of the property to a maximum vertical depth of 65 metres (214 feet). A total of 43 holes were drilled for 4 690 metres (15 390 feet). One hundred eighty-one (181) intersections of more than 30 centimetres, with a grade greater than 1,4 grams of gold per tonne tonne measure of weight or mass; 1 tonne=1000 kg. See also ton. The 181 intersections with a gold grade of more than 1,4 grams per tonne included 59 intersections with more than 3,5 grams of gold per tonne (0.102 ounce of gold per ton) and 20 intersections with more than 7,0 grams of gold per tonne (0.20 ounce of gold per ton). Thirty-five intersections have more than one metre. Drilling indicated that the quartz vein systems (stockwork) are concentrated in four separate corridors of 5 to 15 metres (16 to 49 feet) in width. The gold-bearing structures are open at depth and along strike. Because of the quality of the results Altavista plans another drilling program.
