Altavista Mines Inc.: Confirmation of a New Gold-Bearing Structure and Substantial Tonnage on Santa Anna.BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 1997-- Altavista (ME AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture .) Altavista Mines Inc. is pleased to announce new drill results and confirm the presence of a new gold-bearing structure on its Santa Anna property, located 15 kilometres west of La Sarre in Northwestern Quebec. Results obtained to date show that the Santa Anna property contains several million tonnes of reserves. The challenge for Altavista is to establish the grade of the reserves, which is rendered more difficult by the presence of visible gold in most of the drill cores. The Company is consulting with external experts to establish an appropriate sampling method for this type of mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. . The new gold-bearing structure, called Zone 10, lies 100 metres east of Zone 8 and has been traced over more than 200 metres. It remains open at both ends and at depth. This zone is characterized char·ac·ter·ize tr.v. character·ized, character·iz·ing, character·iz·es 1. Most familiar carbonates are salts that are formed by reacting an inorganic base (e.g. alteration Modification; changing a thing without obliterating it. Furthermore, holes drilled on Zone 8, whose discovery was announced on January 14, 1997, show that this zone extends an additional 150 metres to the south (section 4400) and to a minimum depth of 152 metres. A new interpretation of the drill results is presently underway. Preliminary results appear to indicate that Zone 8 extends from section 4400 to 4900, or more than 500 metres, and remains open at both ends and at depth. The structure identified between sections 5200 and 5550 has been named Zone 8-B, as the geology geology, science of the earth's history, composition, and structure, and the associated processes. It draws upon chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, and mathematics (notably statistics) for support of its formulations. and mineralization of this zone are different from those of Zone 8. The best intersection was obtained from hole 96-100, with gold values of 14.58 g/t Au (0.425 oz/t Au) over 2.03 metres (6.7 feet). In January 1997, Altavista Mines optioned 13 additional claims, bringing the total number of claims on the Santa Anna property to 89 for a total area of 3,560 hectares.
