Altaur Gold adds two strategic properties in Nevada.

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 1997--(CANADIAN DEALING NETWORK AAGE.) Raymond P. Pecoskie, President and CEO of Altaur Gold Explorations Inc., today announced the acquisition of Adelaide Crown and Rock Creek properties, bringing the company's exclusive Nevada property holdings to seven strategically located projects in less than 12 months.

Adelaide Crown is an advanced stage project, fully permitted, with all mine assets required for production in place at the site. The company intends to consolidate the substantial geological and drill data as well as conduct a reserve confirmation study before a production decision is made on the present 25,000 ounce gold reserve. The project is in north central Nevada at the southwestern end of the Getchell Trend gold deposits. The trend is underlain by folded sediments of the lower palaeozoic, Preble and Valmy formations. The contact between the Preble and Valmy formations is a west dipping, normal fault of regional extent and the loci for significant epithermal mineralization.

Rock Creek is an advanced stage exploration project that has had limited drilling, geochemical and geophysical programs carried out by Freeport Exploration, Barrick and Echo Bay demonstrating the presence of widespread and significant gold mineralization and confirming its potential. Ore grade gold mineralization occurs within outcrops of brecciated quartz. Within one of the project's zones, a small orebody containing approximately 800,000 tons grading 0.045 ounces per ton gold has been delineated. Two prominent anomalies, that represent highly potential exploration targets, remain untested. The project is located midway between the Carlin, Getchell and Battle Mountain gold districts, all renowned for their million ounce + gold deposits.

The company has an option to acquire a 60 percent interest in the Rock Creek project and 100 percent interest in the Adelaide Crown for a total aggregate consideration of US $433,000 and 150,000 Altaur shares.
