As an estimated 800,000 people gather on the Mall in Washington, D.C., to celebrate Earth Day this Saturday, April 22, artists throughout the world will be showcased in a unique design project, EarthImage 2000, that has been made possible in part by Altamira Group Inc.

The artists' goal is to create the official Earth Day 2000 poster and "the ultimate image of Earth."

Thanks to the revolutionary technology of Altamira Group's Genuine Fractals Genuine Fractals [1] is a Photoshop plug-in developed and distributed by onOne Software of Portland, Oregon. Genuine Fractals was originally designed and developed by Steven Bender (co-founder of Altamira Group) and his team in 1996.  PrintPro software, the winning artists' works will be scaled to optimum size for printing as posters. The innovative Genuine Fractals process produces distortion-free enlargements, with little dependence on the original size of the image.

Altamira Group is also providing 200 packages of Genuine Fractals PrintPro as prizes for the contest's semi-finalists.
