Gregory E. Murphy, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIGI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard H. Eskow as president of Alta Services LLC.

A subsidiary of Selective, Alta Services is a managed care company headquartered in Hamilton, New Jersey, providing medical claim management services to insurance companies and other businesses.

Mr. Eskow has broad experience in healthcare, insurance and information management and will lead Alta's ongoing expansion efforts into national markets and new product areas.

Mr. Eskow joined the Selective Group earlier this year as a senior vice president of Alta and vice president of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. Prior to joining Selective, Mr. Eskow served as first vice president at Reliance National and as president of that company's managed care division. He had previously been president of TEC, a third party administrator and managed care company in Connecticut. Mr. Eskow has also held senior managed care positions at AIG and Liberty Mutual, working in the health and property/casualty areas, and spent two years working internationally as president of a health consulting company.
