MAPLEWOOD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1996--Alpine Lace Brands Inc. has announced that three of their reduced fat cheeses and meats will be served on NortheastDirect, Metroliner and Empire trains in Amtrak's Northeast Corridor This article is about a rail line.  will be available in wrapped sandwiches for Amtrak Amtrak, the National Railroad Passenger Corp., authorized to operate virtually all intercity passenger railroad routes in the United States. Amtrak was created by Congress in 1970 in response to more than two decades of continuous operating deficits by privately run  travelers to enjoy.
