Alpine Communications selects Copper Mountain's VantEdge Access BRAS.

Copper Mountain Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:CMTN), a provider of intelligent broadband access solutions, today announced that Alpine Communications, a Elkader, Iowa-based Independent Operating Company (IOC) and provider of local, long distance and broadband services, has standardized on the VantEdge Access BRAS for broadband aggregation.

Alpine Communications joins a growing list of IOCs who, after deploying Copper Mountain's CopperEdge DSLAMs, have selected the VantEdge Access BRAS for broadband aggregation. Specifically, Alpine Communications will deploy the VantEdge to aggregate its existing CopperEdge DSLAMs using the VantEdge's high density T1 Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA) aggregation capability.
