Real time knowledge of each aircraft enables more efficient routing of flights, improved reliability, and quicker response to aircraft maintenance requirements. As part of the program, Alpine has established a new Central Communications Department to utilize tracking equipment that connects directly to the Air Route Traffic Control Center The principal facility exercising en route control of aircraft operating under instrument flight rules within its area of jurisdiction. Approximately 26 such centers cover the United States and its possessions. Each has a communication capability to adjacent centers.  radar system and provides the same flight monitoring information used by air traffic controllers across the US.
