Alphameric happy with launch of new products; 2007 Betting Show Review.

ALPHAMERIC were pleased with the customer response to the new products they launched at the show.

Steve Mansfield, managing director of Alphameric Solutions, said: "It was a very good show for us. As well as having an enjoyable opportunity to meet potential customers, the response to Distributed EPoS Electronic Point of Sale, Touchscreen Customer Information Terminals and Audit Management Information Software (MIS) was very encouraging and resulted in some immediate opportunities."

The Touchscreen Information Terminals were definitely a hit for Wirral-based bookmaker, Dave Pluck, who ordered the terminals for his 30 shops in the north west, and installations are happening now.

Pluck said: "We have had extremely good feedback from clients."

The touchscreen terminals are linked to Alphameric's ALBOS text display systems and provide an easy-to-use touchscreen menu for customers. With over 6,500 sites installed with ALBOS, the market for Alphameric customer information terminals for customer and staff access looks healthy.

EPoS is based on Alphameric's hardware, and Alphabet software. It's a system that allows independent bookmakers, both large and small, access to the kind of proven technology used by major bookmakers William Hill and Coral.

Mansfield added: "2008 will be a busy year for Alphameric. We will be upgrading existing clients from our Slip Capture system, as well as installing for new customers and providing the new software packages and off-the-shelf hardware for customer information and MIS."

Also of interest was Alphameric's new products for directional audio and freeview converter for the digital switchover.

With a major Single Point of Entry (SPE) software solution being delivered by Alphameric early in 2008, and innovative new software products, interesting times certainly lie ahead.
