:AHRX) announced today that it will effectuate a 1-for-5 share consolidation of the Company's outstanding common stock.

The share consolidation is intended to enable the Company to increase its marketability to institutional investors.

"The share consolidation is part of a series of strategic actions we are taking to strengthen our financial position for future growth and development," stated Michael M. Lee, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Upon the effectiveness of the share consolidation, five shares of common stock will be converted and reclassified as one share of post-consolidation common stock, and each existing stock certificate will represent one-fifth the number of shares shown thereon.

The Company's new common stock will begin trading under the symbol ALRX when the market opens on Thursday, March 21, 2002.
