Alpha Technologies Group Inc. (Nasdaq:ATGI ATGI Alpha Technologies Group, Inc.

) announced today that Lawrence Butler has been named Chairman of the Board and Robert C. Streiter has been named President and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Lawrence Butler was elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since April 19, 1995 and has been a director and an executive vice president since September 1994. Mr. Marshall Butler, former Chairman of the Board, will continue to be a board member and serve on the executive committee.

Robert C. Streiter has served as President of Uni-Star Industries Inc., the Company's connector subsidiary, since March 23, 1998 and President of Wakefield Engineering Inc., the Company's thermal management subsidiary, since Sept. 21, 1998. Prior to joining Alpha, Mr. Streiter served in various management capacities for the past ten years at AVX AVX Adult Video XXX

 Filters Corporation, Sun Valley, Calif., the electronic filters and capacitors manufacturing division of AVX Corporation. His most recent position at AVX Filters was plant manager with full operational and P&L responsibilities.
