:APT) a leading manufacturer of products designed to protect people, products and environments, including disposable protective apparel and building products, today announced that the Company's Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to an additional $1,500,000 worth of the Company's outstanding Common Stock. In addition to the $1.5 million, we have approximately $0.5 million available from a previously announced buyback, making a total available to repurchase of approximately $2.0 million. Management anticipates repurchasing shares from time to time in open market and negotiated transactions.

This is the seventh buyback for the Company. To date, we have repurchased and retired 2,333,800 shares at a cost of approximately $2.5 million.

Al Millar, President of Alpha Pro Tech commented, "The board and senior management are optimistic about the growth prospects of the Company and have concluded that repurchasing our shares represents an appropriate use of our cash at this time."
