"Alpha Networks has demonstrated not only skill, but speed in delivering products based on our chip, such as the PCMCIA card that we have on display today," said Michael Class, Sequans VP of sales. "Alpha will be delivering several WiMAX devices over the coming months and we are looking forward to working closely with Alpha to develop high performance WiMAX devices, integrating functionalities such as WIFI and VOIP (Voice Over IP) A digital telephone service that uses the public Internet as well as private backbones instead of the traditional telephone network. Many companies, including Vonage, 8x8 and AT&T (CallVantage), typically offer calling within the country for a ."

Devices based on Sequans' SQN1110 chip are available now and devices based on Sequans' newest chip, the SQN1130 Wave 2-ready MIMO (Multiple Input/Multiple Output) Pronounced "my-mo," it is the use of multiple transmitters and receivers (multiple antennas) on wireless devices for improved performance.  chip, will become available before the end of Q2 2007.

Sequans SQN1130 chip features full 2X2 MIMO and the industry's highest throughput and lowest power consumption, which are enabled by Sequans patent-pending MIMO algorithm that delivers maximum likelihood performance while minimizing power consumption. The SQN1130 delivers more than 30 Mbps throughput while drawing less than 250 mW of power.
