Symbol The 20th letter of the Greek alphabet. . "I wanted to have something for lesbians because a lot of regular sororities don't accept them," Blair says. Now Alpha Chi has chapters in two states. Pledges can rush online, but after initiation they visit Memphis for a weekend to learn how to form their own chapters. Alpha Chi holds monthly women's social mixers to discuss issues such as discrimination and sex. The members also mentor younger women coming out. "My goal is to show that lesbians are not just one way," the 23-year-old Blair says. "We come in every shape, size, and color." |
