Born in Cuba Cuba (ky`bə, Span. k`bä), officially Republic of Cuba, republic (2005 est. pop.  and educated in Europe Europe (yr`əp), 6th largest continent, c.4,000,000 sq mi (10,360,000 sq km) including adjacent islands (1992 est. pop. 512,000,000).  before immigrating to America, Alma Flor Ada is a prolific author of children's books in both English and Spanish Spanish, river, c.150 mi (240 km) long, issuing from Spanish Lake, S Ont., Canada, NW of Sudbury, and flowing generally S through Biskotasi and Agnew lakes to Lake Huron opposite Manitoulin island. There are several hydroelectric stations on the river. .
