Alltel Wireless ranks highest in customer call quality performance in three regions across U.S. according to J.D. Power and Associates.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Alltel Wireless, America's largest network, is proud to announce that J.D. Power and Associates in its 2008 Wireless Call Quality Performance Study(SM) - Vol. 1. ranked Alltel Wireless:

* "Highest Call Quality Performance Among Wireless Cell Phone Users In the West Region"

* "Highest Call Quality Performance Among Wireless Cell Phone Users In the Southeast Region"

* "Highest Call Quality Performance Among Wireless Cell Phone Users In the Southwest Region in a Tie"

The study measured wireless call quality based on seven problem areas that impact overall carrier performance: dropped calls; static/interference; failed connection on the first try; voice distortion; echoes; no immediate voice mail notification; and no immediate text message notification.

"Alltel has always put an emphasis on customer satisfaction, call quality and providing a superior network and we appreciate that consumers continue to recognize the exceptional wireless experience that Alltel delivers," said Frank O'Mara, chief marketing officer for Alltel Wireless. "J.D. Power and Associates is a highly respected organization and this award reflects the daily efforts of all of our employees as we strive to exceed our customers' expectations."

Alltel continues to enhance and expand its own network, and in 2007 it extended its next generation EVDO technology to 76 percent of its potential customers. EVDO technology provides customers with wireless access to the Internet at speeds comparable to wired broadband connections such as cable modem or DSL.

Alltel Wireless is so confident in its network that it offers customers the wireless industry's only automatic network guarantee. Meaning, customers automatically get a credit on their bill if they drop a call on the Alltel network. Alltel also was the first to provide its customers the flexibility to change their rate plans without extending their contracts as well as My Circle, which gives customers unlimited free calling to any 5, 10 or 20 numbers on any network.

Alltel is owner and operator of the nation's largest wireless network and has more than 12 million customers. For more information about Alltel, please visit www.alltel.com.
