Alltel Subsidiary, Western Wireless International Austria Corp., Reaches Agreement to Sell Austrian Wireless Business.

:AT) today announced that its subsidiary, Western Wireless International Austria Corp., has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Austrian business, tele.ring Telekom Service GmbH, to T-Mobile Austria GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom Deutsche Telekom AG (ISIN: DE0005557508, FWB: DTE, NYSE: DT, LSE: DEU, TYO: 9496 ) (abbreviated DTAG) is a telecommunications company headquartered in Bonn, Germany. It is the largest telecommunications company in Germany and in the EU.  for approximately $1.6 billion (Euro 1.3 billion). The price is subject to downward adjustment if, among other things, certain operating performance targets are not met.

The transaction must be approved by the European Commission European Commission, branch of the governing body of the European Union (EU) invested with executive and some legislative powers. Located in Brussels, Belgium, it was founded in 1967 when the three treaty organizations comprising what was then the European Community  and the Austrian telecommunications regulator. Deutsche Bank Deutsche Bank AG (IPA: /'dɔɪ.tʃə/[1]) (ISIN: DE0005140008, NYSE: DB) (English: German Bank  Securities Inc. served as financial advisor to Western Wireless International Austria Corp.

Alltel is a customer-focused communications company Communications Company is a communications unit of the United States Marine Corps. They are part of Combat Logistics Regiment 37 , 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3MLG) and III Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF). The unit is based out of the Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D.  with more than 15 million customers in 36 states and nearly $10 billion in annual revenues.
