Alltel Declares Quarterly Dividends of 12 1/2 Cents Per Share and an Additional One-Time Dividend Payment of 4.8 Cents Per Share.LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Alltel's (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange : AT) board of directors today declared regular quarterly dividends on the company's common stock. The 12 1/2 cent dividend is payable Oct. 3, 2006, to stockholders of record as of Sept. 8, 2006. Regular quarterly dividends also were declared on all series of the company's preferred stock Stock shares that have preferential rights to dividends or to amounts distributable on liquidation, or to both, ahead of common shareholders. Preferred stock is given preference over common stock. Holders of preferred stock receive dividends at a fixed annual rate. .
