Allstate Sponsors Basketball Clinic for Orlando Youth; Gerald Wilkins On Hand to Share Basketball and Life Lessons.Business & Sports Editors NORTHBROOK, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2004 In celebration of the upcoming 2004 U.S. Olympic Team, and in support of its recently announced USA Basketball sponsorship, Allstate is sponsoring and joining forces with USA Basketball for a series of ten youth basketball clinics at select Boys & Girls Clubs in various cities around the country. During the clinics, well-known USA Basketball players or coaches with ties to the host city will be on hand to offer insight and instruction. The series will visit Orlando on April 14, 2004 at the Universal Orlando Foundation Boys & Girls Club. Gerald Wilkins Gerald Bernard Wilkins (born November 9 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia) is a retired American basketball player. A 6'6" shooting guard/small forward, who played collegiately at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and later in the NBA. will participate in the clinic and offer Club members and other select youth not only basketball instruction, but personal insights about the importance of hard work, dedication, sportsmanship and overall life success through sports. The Orlando clinic is the tenth and final clinic of the series. Other clinics were held in New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. Beyond providing youth members an opportunity to participate in the clinics, The Allstate Foundation will make a $5,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club in each clinic city for a total contribution of $50,000.
