NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- Kickers at more than 350 college football games this season will be kicking for a win - and a good cause - thanks to the continued growth of Allstate's "Good Hands([R])" Field Goal Net program.

With six new schools joining the initiative this year, including University of Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. In the United States of America, Notre Dame  and University of South Carolina

, Allstate now has partnerships with 57 schools, most of which will be raising the signature "Good Hands([R])"-branded field goal nets before field goal and extra point attempts at home games. University of Notre Dame and Indiana University Indiana University, main campus at Bloomington; state supported; coeducational; chartered 1820 as a seminary, opened 1824. It became a college in 1828 and a university in 1838. The medical center (run jointly with Purdue Univ.  are participating in the program, but will not be raising the Allstate "Good Hands([R])"-branded nets.

Building on the momentum of the last two years, Allstate will donate money to the schools' general scholarship funds for all field goals ($300) and extra points ($100) converted into the nets at each of the participating school's home games. For Notre Dame, monies will be donated to the Knute Rockne Knute (pronounced "kah-noot") ("noot" is the anglicized nickname) Kenneth Rockne (March 4, 1888 – March 31, 1931) was an American football player and is regarded by many as the greatest coach in college football history.  Heritage Fund.

Since its inception in 2005, the Allstate "Good Hands([R])" Field Goal Net program has generated more than $1.16 million in donations for general scholarship funds at colleges and universities across the country, as well as hurricane relief monies earmarked for the Gulf Region. This year's program is special due to Allstate's first ever entitlement of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS (1) (The British Computer Society, Swindon, Wiltshire, England, www.bcs.org) The chartered body for information technology professionals in the U.K., founded in 1957. ) National Championship game and the Allstate([R]) Sugar Bowl, both to be played in the New Orleans New Orleans (ôr`lēənz –lənz, ôrlēnz`), city (2006 pop. 187,525), coextensive with Orleans parish, SE La., between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain, 107 mi (172 km) by water from the river mouth; founded  Superdome in January 2008 against the backdrop of the "Good Hands([R])" field goal nets.

"The Allstate 'Good Hands([R])' field goal nets have become synonymous with synonymous with
adjective equivalent to, the same as, identical to, similar to, identified with, equal to, tantamount to, interchangeable with, one and the same as
college football, representing the safety net of protection Allstate provides its customers," said Lisa Cochrane, Allstate's vice president of marketing. "We are proud of the impact this program has had on and off the field, and we take pride in bringing a great college football experience to fans everywhere."

In addition to the 57 schools at the Division I-A and I-AA levels participating in the program in 2007, four-time All-American and 1976 Heisman Trophy winner Tony Dorsett joins the Allstate team as the national spokesperson for the initiative. Heralded as one of the best running backs to ever play college football, Dorsett will participate in media events throughout the college football season on behalf of Allstate, communicating the values of protection and preparedness both on and off the gridiron, something he knows well from his playing days.

"Allstate is committed to strengthening communities across the country by providing much needed resources for college academic funds through the "Good Hands([R])" net program," said Dorsett, who helped lead his University of Pittsburgh team to a national championship title at the Sugar Bowl in 1977. "As a player, and more importantly as a parent, I know the value of safety and protection, and I hope to help Allstate advance that message to all college football fans."

Special translucent netting will be in place in one end zone at each of the 55 participating schools' stadiums. The nets will also be flown at 16 bowl games, including the Allstate Sugar Bowl and Allstate BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans. The nets, featuring the insurance company's "Good Hands([R])" logo, will be raised during field goal and extra point attempts. The "Good Hands([R])" logo plays off the company's popular slogan, "You're in Good Hands with Allstate([R])." Allstate is also using its branded field goal nets in conjunction with television, print and online advertising.

"Often times in college football, the joy and heartbreak fans experience depends on what does and does not make it through the uprights when the game is on the line," Dorsett said. "What I love about college football is that each week, steadfast and loyal college football fans come back and support their respective teams no matter what happened the week before. Allstate, too, is committed to supporting its customers and believes in accident forgiveness, which is why I think this is a great fit."
