Allstate Insurance Company Names Executive to Head New Risk Transfer Position.


NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- Jeffrey J. Cooper, 51, has joined Allstate Insurance Company as assistant vice president, Protection Finance, Risk Transfer. The position is based out of the company's headquarters in Northbrook, Ill.

In his new role, Cooper will play a key role in ensuring the most effective use of reinsurance The contract made between an insurance company and a third party to protect the insurance company from losses. The contract provides for the third party to pay for the loss sustained by the insurance company when the company makes a payment on the original contract.  and other forms of risk transfer arrangements by the company's property and casualty insurance operations. His responsibilities will be to provide an acceptable return for shareholders on the risks assumed in the company's property business and reduce the variability of earnings due to large or multiple catastrophe events, while providing quality protection to customers.
