Allstate's Signature "Good Hands(R)" Field Goal Nets To Be Raised at 65 Schools During Fourth Season of Program.Total contributions to partner schools' general scholarship funds expected to approach $2 million during 2008 season NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- During the 2008 college football season, aiming between the uprights will take on a special significance for place kickers at 65 schools as they look to score points for their teams and money for their institutions' general scholarship funds. This year will mark the fourth consecutive year of growth for Allstate's "Good Hands([R])" Field Goal Net program, highlighted by adding five new programs, including Texas Tech University and the University of Nevada University of Nevada could refer to either of the universities in the Nevada System of Higher Education:
For the public-policy college at Michigan State University, see . , The Citadel and Hofstra University from the NCAA Championship Subdivision to its "Good Hands([R])" Field Goal Net program. These schools, along with 60 returning programs, will help contribute to one of the most successful classroom-impacting programs in the country, which has raised more than $1.5 million for its partner schools since 2005. "What started out as a smart way to communicate our brand's promise to a loyal and growing customer base has turned into an initiative that is driving excellence on the field and in the classroom," said Lisa Cochrane, vice president of marketing for Allstate. "Allstate is proud to be a member of the college football community and shares this passion with millions of college football fans across the country through integrated partnerships with their favorite schools." Allstate's "Good Hands([R])" Field Goal Net program is unique because it rewards the on-field performance of its partner teams by earmarking money to the schools' general scholarship funds for each field goal ($300) and extra point ($100) successfully converted by the home team at each of their home games (Note: Donations awarded to University of Notre Dame will be earmarked for the Knute Rockne Heritage Fund). In 2007, Allstate's 61 partner schools kicked a total of 476 field goals and 1,276 extra points at home games, generating a cumulative donation of $290,400 divided among their general scholarship funds. In addition to the 65 schools at the Bowl Subdivision and Championship Subdivision levels participating in the program in 2008, the "Good Hands([R])" nets will be hung at two conference championships and 20 bowl games, including the Allstate([R]) Sugar Bowl played in New Orleans at the Louisiana Superdome on January 2, 2009. With the exception of the University of Notre Dame, all of the schools participating will be raising the Allstate "Good Hands([R])"-branded field goal nets prior to each field goal and extra point attempted in their home stadiums.
