Allots not rosy in veg patch.


LIFE should be a bed of roses for gardeners at a flourishing Midland allotment.

But police and council chiefs have been called in to restore peace after a bitter feud feud, formalized private warfare, especially between family groups. The blood feud (see vendetta) is characteristic of those societies in which central government either has not arisen or has decayed.  which has turned the tranquil spot into a battleground.
