Allister Heath to edit City AM

London business freesheet City AM has appointed Allister Heath as its new editor.

Heath, the editor of The Business magazine and associate editor of the Spectator, has been chosen as the permanent replacement for David Parsley.

The 30-year-old worked as economics editor and deputy editor at The Business, before being made editor of the title in January last year.

Jens Torpe, City AM's chief executive and co-founder, described Heath as "young, established in his field and ambitious".

Launched in September 2005, City AM now distributes around 100,000 copies a day.

City AM's founding editor, Parsley, a former business editor of the Sunday Express, left in August for family reasons.

Since then news editor David Hellier has stood in as acting editor.
