Allied Signal has completed its previously-announced acquisition of the assets operated by Polymers and Filament filament, in astronomy: see chromosphere.  Rudolstadt Rudolstadt (r`dôlshtät'), city (1994 pop. 29,536), Thuringia, E central Germany, on the Thuringian Saale River. Manufactures include china, chemicals, and metal goods.  (PFR), a German producer of nylon nylon, synthetic thermoplastic material characterized by strength, elasticity, resistance to abrasion and chemicals, low moisture absorbency, and capacity to be permanently set by heat. After 10 years of research E. I.  plastics and fibers. Through this transaction, Allied Signal acquires PFR's manufacturing facilities in Rudolstadt, located 150 miles east of Frankfurt am Main. The site, which employs approximately 300 people, manufactures both nylon 6 and nylon 6,6 plastics and fibers, and also polymerizes PET polymer.
