ALD aldolase. ) announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire Advanced Chemicals Systems International (ASCI ASCI American Society for Clinical Investigation. ). Terms were not announced. Privately-held ASCI produces electronic chemicals used in the manufacture of semiconductors. ASCI is headquartered in Milpitas, California Milpitas (IPA pronunciation: mɪlpitʌs; inhabitants are called 'Milpitans') is a city in Santa Clara County, California. It is located with San Jose to its south and Fremont to its north, at the eastern end of Highway 237 and generally between Interstate freeways 680 and and has a production facility in Carrollton, Texas. Its sales in 1995 were approximately $15 million. AlliedSignal's 1995 sales of electronic materials were approximately $700 million. The acquisition is expected to be completed during the third quarter. The inclusion of ASCI in AlliedSignal's electronic materials businesses is expected to enhance ASCI's product development and technical support for its customers.
