AlliedSignal Aerospace selected to provide integrated avionics systems for Czech Republic's L-159 program.


TETERBORO, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 1994--AlliedSignal Aerospace's Government Electronic Systems business unit has been selected to provide integrated avionics systems for the Czech Republic's L-159 aircraft program.

The L-159, a new, multi-role fighter aircraft fighter aircraft

 Aircraft Modification A change in the physical characteristics of aircraft, accomplished either by a change in production specifications or by alteration of items already produced.  Division (NAAMD) is the prime contractor for the L-159 program. Previously competitive bidders on the L-159 aircraft program, Rockwell and AlliedSignal opted to join forces and enter the competition as an all-American team that offered the combined strengths of both companies.

Rockwell's NAAMD will integrate a Western avionics suite and weapons delivery system, while AlliedSignal Government Electronic Systems will provide avionics subsystems and services. Specifically, AlliedSignal will produce three key pieces of state-of-the-art electronics, including: a 4x4 inch, multi-function, active-matrix, liquid-crystal display, a miniature air data computer (MADC MADC Master Agility Dog of Canada (Canadian Agility Title)

The initial order of 72 aircraft will be produced for the Czech Air Force The Czech Air Force, ICAO code CEF, is the air force branch of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. The Air Force, with the Ground Forces, comprises the main combat power of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic. , with production deliveries scheduled for 1998.

AlliedSignal's Engines unit has already been awarded a contract for the F-124-GA-100 engine for the L-159.
