The airshow is organised by Farnborough International Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of British aerospace industry's body the Society to generate about $540 million in revenue for new AlliedSignal equipment and systems, aftermarket spares and repair and overhaul services. The industry's major airframe manufacturers disclosed new orders for 152 transport aircraft during the air show near London earlier this month. AlliedSignal Aerospace is the world's largest supplier of equipment and systems for commercial transport, regional, general aviation and military aircraft. "The large number of aircraft orders announced at Farnborough is further evidence of the continuing recovery of the commercial air transport market," said Daniel P. Burnham, president of AlliedSignal Aerospace. "As a leading source of aircraft equipment, systems and repair and overhaul services, AlliedSignal is able to offer a broad range of products and services for aircraft manufacturers and airlines." Based on the aircraft ordered in the recent announcements, AlliedSignal Aerospace will provide wheels and brakes, safety, avionics, auxiliary power units, power management systems, environmental control systems, ram air turbines, smoke detection equipment, navigational systems and fuel controls.
