Allied Telesyn Expands Multiservice Gateway Offering; IP Networking Leader Adds Bi-Directional FTTH, Wireless Capability, and RF Connectivity to Line of Residential Gateways.

BOTHELL, Wash. -- Allied Telesyn, a global provider of secure Ethernet/IP access solutions, today announced the addition of three new models to its line of iMG600 Series intelligent Multiservice Gateways. Adding capacity for wireless, bi-directional single fiber optics fiber optics, transmission of digitized messages or information by light pulses along hair-thin glass fibers. Each fiber is surrounded by a cladding having a high index of refractance so that the light is internally reflected and travels the length of the fiber , and RF cable-TV interface, the suite of new devices offers increased reliability, centralized management, simplified deployment and advanced quality of service technology to operators and service providers. By enabling "service rich" IP Triple Play solutions over xDSL or fiber, providers can increase revenue streams, reduce churn and grow their existing customer base with differentiated VoIP, IP TV and data services.

Now generally available, the iMG613RG is the first gateway on the market to offer RF support for existing cable TV networks -- allowing MSOs and cable operators to extend their reach over FTTH (Fiber To The Home) See FTTP.  without having to invest in new IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) Also called "TV over IP," IPTV delivers scheduled TV programs and video-on-demand (VOD) via the IP protocol and digital streaming techniques used to watch video on the Internet.  infrastructure.

"The iMG600 intelligent Multiservice Gateways offer unique features to optimize operators' delivery of interactive multimedia services to customers," explained Allied Telesyn's Executive Vice President of Marketing and Product Development, Philip Yim. "Each of them is a one-box solution that will accelerate our customers' ability to offer their subscribers a variety of revenue-generating services. These services, coupled with the providers' existing offering, give an opportunity to grow revenues while keeping their CAPEX and OPEX See CAPEX.  spending under control."
