Allied Telesyn Enables Rural Carrier to Deploy First Ever Locally-Operated ILEC VoIP Network.

BOTHELL, Wash. -- IP Triple-Play Pioneer Livingston Telephone Protects Customer Base by Offering Voice-over-IP Services over xDSL

"This is the first deal of it's kind in the telephone industry that we are aware of," says Curt Walzel, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Livingston Telephone (LivTel) worked with a number of providers to bring the VoIP project to life, but thanks to recent upgrades, they already had most of the IP Triple Play switching infrastructure they needed in place. Since 2001, LivTel has been upgrading its network with Allied Telesyn Triple Play intelligent networking products -- including Layer 3 switches, CWDM (Course WDM) An optical transmission method that is used for shorter distances than dense WDM (DWDM). We've worked 100 years to build relationships with those customers. The third-party providers bypass your system and put your customers directly into their softswitch. So if they suddenly want to bypass you, the ILEC, what is to stop them from simply taking your customer, and all the business? Nothing. A pioneer in IP Triple Play service provision, LivTel has been offering premium IP video services -- including "cable tv" channels and video-on-demand service -- to its customers since 2001. It also wholesales those services to nearby, smaller ILECs, such as neighboring neigh·bor

Allied Telesyn's LightExplorer effectively quadrupled available bandwidth over that pair, enabling Lake Livingston to take advantage of LivTel's video head-end and revenue-generating next-generation video services.
