Allied Telesyn Continues IP Access Edge Evolution with iMAP System Release 6.0; New Feature Additions to the integrated Multiservice Access Platform Enable Operators to Increase Revenue Streams and Reduce Costs.

BOTHELL, Wash. -- Allied Telesyn, a global provider of secure Ethernet/IP access solutions, today announced version 6.0 of its integrated Multiservice Access Platform (iMAP). Version 6.0 incorporates a suite of hardware and software capabilities, which expands and streamlines the operating efficiencies of the carrier-grade iMAP family. iMAP version 6.0 provides operators and service providers with the opportunity to increase their revenue stream per customer, while at the same time reducing overall deployment and operating costs operating costs nplgastos mpl operacionales .

Features and benefits included in iMAP version 6.0 include: enhanced ADSL See DSL.

ADSL - Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
2+ rate/reach, a combo POTS/ADSL/ADSL2+ module, support for bonded G.SHDSL A DSL technology from the ITU (G.991.2) that provides symmetric transmission from 192 Kbps to 2.3 Mbps using a single copper pair, depending on distance from the central office (from 20,000 ft. to 6,500 ft.). With two wire pairs, 384 Kbps to 4.6 Mbps can be achieved. G.  for two telephone wire pairs, AC Power option and support for ADSL2+ Annex B. Version 6.0 also includes EPSR/xSTP interoperability. Allied Telesyn's carrier-grade resiliency feature, Ethernet Protection Switching Rings (EPSR EPSR Ethernet Protected Switched Ring ) ensures mission critical services are not interrupted in the event of facility or node outages.

"Our promise is to continuously develop our 10G-based IP access platform technology," commented Allied Telesyn's Executive Vice President, Marketing and Product Development, Philip Yim. "This release is a further sign of our commitment to the carrier market place and will provide existing customers with the functionality they require to provide more resilient and service rich IP Triple Play networks. New customer acceptance also demonstrates to the industry that network IP convergence Using the Internet Protocol (IP) as the standard transport for transmitting all information (voice, data, music, video, TV, teleconferencing, etc.).  total customer ownership, as it allows deployment of next-generation Broadband services without reliance on an incumbent operators equipment for basic telephony service. The platform also enables incumbents' deployments in rural areas, for seamless service upgrade to broadband.

The optional AC power enhancements made within the platform have also now made enterprise customers interested in deploying the solution as it provides a cost effective means in which to deliver voice, video and data across their networks. "The IP/Ethernet technology is now particularly suited to the hospitality and higher education markets, where IP voice, IP video and Internet need to be delivered on one facility," added Yim. "It is not only good news for these customers but also for innovative system integrators who can differentiate themselves by offering new IP/Ethernet solutions into these markets."

Features and benefits of iMAP version 6.0 include:

--New Combo POTS and ADSL/ADSL2+ module with integrated splitter for combined DSL DSL

This is ideal for incumbent deployments in rural areas for seamless service upgrade to broadband and for alternative carriers alternative carriers looking at local loop un-bundling for total customer ownership.

--Bonded G.SHDSL for two telephone wire pairs support -- provides higher speed symmetrical business-class service for low cost leased-line replacement and creates additional revenue by offering high-bandwidth services.

--AC power option for iMAP 7100 family -- ideal for locations, such as in-building, MDU/MTU and enterprise installations, where DC is unavailable.

--EPSR/xSTP interoperability -- increases resilience of Ethernet rings and protects service delivery in enterprise and IP carrier-grade roll-outs. --ADSL2+ for Annex B deployments -- provides higher bandwidth (up to 26Mbps) than ADSL deployments and wire speed ADSL2+ performance over new 24-port service modules (both Annex A and B).

--Industry leading power & cable management features -- Guarantee customer bandwidth across xDSL technology by optimizing binder crosstalk in mass-market xDSL deployment situations.
