Allied Telesyn Appoints Bill Allen VP of Network Service Provider Operations.

BOTHELL, Wash. -- Allied Telesyn has announced the appointment of Bill Allen as VP of Network Service Provider (NSP) Operations. Allied Telesyn's NSP organization is focused solely on Triple Play Application and Access networks for Independent Operating Carriers and Public Utilities. Allen is responsible for the creation and execution of market strategy and revenue generation for this rapidly expanding organization.

Prior to joining Allied Telesyn, Allen held senior sales positions at several access edge startups, including Occam Networks and Calix. There, he quickly brought in new customers and contributed to the company's rapid sales growth of Multiservice Access Platforms. His market-focused strategy of initially targeting smaller carriers rather than larger ILECs & RBOCs quickly increased direct sales velocity.

Allen has held other management roles in a variety of networking companies, including region vice president at ADC Communications, and helped found the Telco Group of Cabletron Systems, where he was responsible for expansion of new sales teams in Service Provider Markets. He is particularly recognized for his breadth and vertical market knowledge of the carrier space. Allen is a graduate of Auburn University.
