Allied Telesyn International (www.alliedtelesyn.com), a worldwide leader in simplifying networking for businesses of all sizes, Wednesday announced the newest release of its AT-View network management product - AT-View 6.0.

The AT-View 6.0 suite provides essential tools to manage and maintain a network via an easy-to-use, intuitive graphical user interface graphical user interface (GUI)

Designed for the mid-sized to Enterprise network, AT-View 6.0 makes network management easy by putting key information within easy reach of the network manager: it assists in setup with graphical device viewing and configuration; it collects and reports statistics on network operation; it provides bridge table viewing and RMON (Remote MONitoring) Enhancements to the management information base (MIB) structure used by the simple network management protocol (SNMP). In 1991, RMON added comprehensive network monitoring capabilities.  tools; it provides save and load device configuration; and it signals problems and potential problems with alarms and thresholds.

Used in conjunction with HP OpenView HP OpenView was a Hewlett Packard product range consisting of an extensive portfolio of network and systems management products. This latest release of AT-View 6.0 is fully Y2K compliant Capable of correctly processing any data that deals with a date beyond the year 1999. See Y2K problem. , incorporates support for several new network devices - including the popular AT-8126XL and 3726XL switches - and includes free support for the year 2000, complete with on-line updates and telephone technical support for a full year.

Among the features that users will receive with the years' updates is AT-VLAN-View. AT-VLAN-View is a tool that extends the easy to use AT-View GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. The ability to resize application windows and change style and size of fonts are the significant advantages of a GUI vs. a character-based interface.  to the task of configuring and managing Allied Telesyn's 802.1Q VLAN networks. The AT-VLAN-View feature will be available in Q1 2000.
