Allied Telesis Adds New Capabilities to iMG Gateway Family; Three New Gateways Deliver RF, Wireless and WAN Interface Modularity.

SAN JOSE San Jose, city, United States
San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850.
, Calif. -- Allied Telesis Allied Telesis is a telecommunications company, formerly Allied Telesyn. Headquartered in Japan, their North American headquarters are in Bothell, Washington, a suburb of Seattle.  (formerly Allied Telesyn), a global provider of secure Ethernet/IP access solutions and an industry leader in the deployment of IP Triple Play networks over fiber and copper infrastructure, today announced three new iMG intelligent Multiservice Gateway offerings: the iMG646MOD (1) See modulo and magneto-optic disk.

iMG646MOD - A modular gateway supporting any service over any
medium. The iMG646MOD provides support for ADSL2+, VDSL2,
Active Ethernet (100Mb and 1Gb) and GEPON in a service
provider accessible module. With ultimate WAN flexibility the
new modular iMG allows service providers to deliver carrier
class IP Triple Play services over any network.

The iMG646MOD offers multiple ports for set top boxes and
optional support for distribution of IP traffic over existing
home wiring to reduce IPTV deployment time and cost, with
HPNAv3 and future MOCA support. Advanced home networking is
supported over 6 data ports with switching and routing
functionality, and security ensured through firewall and NAT.
By integrating switching and routing functionality, the
iMG646MOD eliminates the need for an additional box at the
customer premise. Designed with OSP in mind, the iMG646MOD is
temperature hardened, and accommodates fiber cable
        termination.

iMG613RF - Provides IP Triple Play and RF video in a single
unit. The iMG613RF, a hybrid RF/IP Video Gateway, provides a
simple and cost-effective solution for migrating from existing
analog cable to IPTV. With IP Triple Play and RF Video in a
single unit, the iMG613RF has full support for advanced video
services, including layer 3 routing capability, IGMP snooping
and proxy, and multiple ports for STB support. The iMG613RF
also converts standard HFC RF Video from an optical to
electrical signal, for distribution in the home coaxial cable
        plant.

iMG643W - Enables the distribution of wireless IP services
over 802.11bg. Used at the subscriber site, the iMG643W takes
networks from IP Triple Play to IP Quad Play by integrating
the distribution of wireless IP services over 802.11bg. New
revenue generating IP services can now be delivered within the
home environment with no cabling required.

"The new capabilities of the iMG family provide a gateway portfolio unmatched by any other offering in the industry," said Philip Yim, executive vice president of global marketing & product development for Allied Telesis. "The Allied Telesis mission is to ensure that our service provider customers have the best technology and the necessary flexibility required to deliver premium services at an affordable price to their subscribers."
