WHEREAS, the financial briefing presented to the APA Board of Directors does prove the necessity for all employee groups to provide some level of relief to AMR during this financial crisis; therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the Allied Pilots Association directs the Negotiating Committee to enter immediate discussions with AMR Management to explore changes to the basic working agreement. Any agreement on changes to the Basic Working Agreement will be contingent upon an AMR provided restructuring plan that would reasonably ensure the short-term survival and long-term viability of American Airlines.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any such changes to the Basic Working Agreement are further contingent upon participation by other parties.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all changes be contingent upon a future economic return to the pilots.
