He currently serves as Director, Primary Health Care and Drug Strategies with the South Australian Department of Health, and is a member and immediate Chair of the Australian Intergovernmental Committee on Drugs. Mr. Cabanellas formerly served as the Commissioner of the Argentine International Trade Commission, as well as a Partner at Cardenas, Cassagne & Asociados. He is the author of numerous publications regarding international trade relations as they affect Latin America.

Allied Domecq's Independent Marketing Review Board compliments the Code of Responsible Beverage Alcohol Advertising and Marketing Practices of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS), the industry trade association representing America's leading distillers, and the DISCUS Code Review Board, which is responsible for receiving advertising complaints and enforcing compliance of the industry's voluntary standards.
