Allianz Life Appoints New Medical Director.


MINNEAPOLIS -- Allianz Healthcare Risk Management, the healthcare excess of loss division of Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life(R)) announces the addition of Gail Bender, M.D. as consulting Medical Director. In this role, Dr. Bender will focus on facility and program credentialing of the Allianz LifeTrac(SM) Transplant Network. In addition, she will support the Medical Management team and identify trends in medical care and technology that affect Allianz Life healthcare excess of loss clients and products.

Dr. Bender brings an extensive background in Oncology and Internal Medicine. A graduate of the University of Minnesota (body, education) University of Minnesota - The home of Gopher.

There are also campuses at Lima, Mansfield, Marion, and Newark.  Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital in the areas of Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Bender has been in private practice for 22 years, and will continue her private oncology practice in St. Louis Park, MN.

Over the past decade, Dr. Bender has held Board Directorships at Medica medica (māˑ·dē·k , HealthSystem Minnesota, and the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. Professional memberships include the American Society of Clinical Oncology American Society of Clinical Oncology, or ASCO, is an organization that represents all clinical oncologists. Every year, ASCO holds a large symposium where physicians and researchers meet to convey and discuss research and ideas.  and the Minnesota Society of Clinical Oncology.
