Alliance publishes Downtown guide.


The Downtown Downtown (called a "city centre" in British English) is a term used in North America when referring to a city's core, usually both in a geographical and commercial / community sense.  Alliance has released the third edition of "Destination Downtown: A Guide to Lower Manhattan Lower Manhattan is the southernmost part of the island of Manhattan, the main island and center of business and government of the City of New York. Lower Manhattan is generally defined as the area delineated on the north by Chambers Street, on the west by the Hudson River (North ," a comprehensive directory to Lower Manhattan's retail stores, restaurants, museums, organizations and services.

Destination Downtown, which is designed for those who live, work and visit Downtown, provides users with a well-categorized, easy-to-read directory that includes the names, phone numbers and addresses of more than 1,500 Lower Manhattan destinations.

Residential and retail development activity has so transformed Downtown in the past few years that the guide has had to be repeatedly updated to reflect the changes to the increasing retail and consumer services Consumer Services refers to the formulation, deformulation, technical consulting and testing of most consumer products, such as food, herbs, beverages, vitamins, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, hair products, household cleaners, [paints, plastics, metals, waxes, coatings, minerals,  available on evenings and weekends.

"Lower Manhattan is a great place to shop, eat and entertain at any hour," said Debra Simon, vice president of marketing for the Downtown Alliance.
