Alliance Welcomes 15 New Members in the Initiative to Develop Open Technology Standards; More Companies Join in the Drive to Streamline e-Real Estate Transactions.Business/Technology Editors INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 15, 2001 The Alliance for Advanced Real Estate Transaction Technology (AARTT) today announced an additional 15 companies have pledged their commitment to the organization's initiative to create open standards Specifications for hardware and software that are developed by a standards organization or a consortium involved in supporting a standard. Available to the public for developing compliant products, open standards imply "open systems;" that an existing component in a system can be replaced for data exchange within the real estate industry. The newest members have joined since mid-November, and bring the Alliance membership to 37. They are: AutoRealty, Bid Trac, ClosingGuard.com, Efluity, Go Home Networks, GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. The ability to resize application windows and change style and size of fonts are the significant advantages of a GUI vs. a character-based interface.
